Make Money at Kids Birthday Parties

Make Money at Kid's Birthday Parties

Making money with digital photography is achievable if you put in some effort. It is not impossible even when almost everyone today own a digital camera.

However, the fact is that many camera owners don't know how to use their cameras properly and take dreadful pictures. Secondly, if it's a special event, people get caught up in the moment and forget to take pictures. Thirdly, the person who takes the photographs seldom shows up in group pictures. These are all good reasons why people are open to the idea of using a professional photographer.

This is where you come in. Let's start thinking of kid's birthday parties.

Now a days, parents in your community hold children's birthday parties at 'unusual and themed' venues. Very often children receive invitations to birthday parties hosted at bowling alleys, swimming pools, art galleries, kids' museums, fast food restaurants, recreation centers, laser galleries and other places.

Identify these venues that host children's birthday parties and put your negotiation skills to work. In all probability, the manager will actively promote your services when parents book the parties, or perhaps you can leave a pile of brochures where parents will see them when making the bookings. These promotional pamphlets should be colorful, fun, display your best birthday party pictures and list the many ways in which your digital photography would enhance the party.

It is good to offer the customer a choice of several photography packages with varying price ranges. For example, one package could feature pictures of kids posing with a clown or other popular costumes. You can rent a clown suit and hire an extroverted friend to don the suit and accompany you. If you have a small portable printer, you could offer to take pictures as each child enters the door, then print the picture promptly so the hostess can slip a copy in that child's gift bag.

Additionally, you could offer to take candid shots throughout the life of the party, and then post them immediately on a web site where parents and partygoers could download them and print them out as desired, at the event. Subsequently, you could offer to build a PowerPoint presentation of the pictures and send it to the host to distribute as they wish. You can come up with tons of ideas to promote digital photography at a children's birthday party.

When you get a booking for such an event, be sure to bring plenty of brochures and business cards. Ask the hostess to include your brochure with their invitation cards. You might also provide a discount coupon to anyone who books your digital photography services. Don't forget to give several to the host. They could have other children who need parties. Failing that, there is always next year.

Last but not the least - suggest to the venue manager that you create a bulletin board or display showing pictures of happy birthday parties. Explain to the venue manager that it is a good marketing tool for them to use to promote their birthday parties - and of course a good marketing tool for you to promote your digital photography services. Put this digital photography idea to work aggressively and 'Happy Birthday' will soon become your favorite song.
